Lea-Ann Kirkham

Lea-Ann Kirkham is a prominent researcher leading the Research Group at The Kids Research Institute Australia since January 2018. In addition to this role, Lea-Ann holds the position of Adjunct Associate Professor at The University of Western Australia, where tenure spans from June 2009 to the present, encompassing roles as Senior Research Fellow and Postdoctoral Research Fellow. Previously, Lea-Ann served as Co-Director at the Wesfarmers Centre of Vaccines and Infectious Diseases from July 2019 to February 2022, directing a team of over 150 members focused on combating infectious diseases in children. Lea-Ann's academic journey includes a PhD in Infection and Immunity from the University of Glasgow, achieved from 2002 to 2006, and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from The University of Edinburgh, completed in 2000.
