Krissy Ponden

Krissy Ponden is an experienced art educator and administrator currently serving as the Art Department Chair at The Unquowa School since September 2005, where responsibilities include teaching and fostering individual learning through tailored lesson plans for middle school students. Ponden also held the role of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Middle Level Commissioner with the National Art Education Association from December 2019 to April 2024. Earlier experience includes working as a Graphic Designer at Valentine Creative Group, contributing to product development for high-profile beauty clients, and serving as a Teaching Artist at the Westport Arts Center. Ponden holds a Doctor of Education in Art Education from Indiana University Bloomington, a Master of Education in Art Education with a focus on Museum Education from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, a Graduate Certificate in Art Education from Southern Connecticut State University, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Paier College of Art.
