Lorri Unumb

Lorri Unumb has a strong background in law and advocacy, with a focus on autism and neurodevelopmental issues. Lorri currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of The Council of Autism Service Providers since May 2019. Prior to this, they founded The Unumb Center for Neurodevelopment in 2010. From 2008 to 2019, Unumb worked at Autism Speaks as the Vice President, State Government Affairs, where they managed state government relations and played a crucial role in reforming autism insurance laws. Lorri also worked as an Assistant Director at the Office of Legal Education in 2008. Unumb's career also includes teaching positions as a Professor at Charleston School of Law from 2004 to 2007 and at George Washington University Law School from 1999 to 2004. Lorri gained experience in litigation and law clerk roles at the United States Department of Justice and the United States District Court from 1993 to 2001. Unumb began their legal career with summer associate positions at Nexsen Pruet, LLC in 1992 and Nelson Mullins in 1991.

Lorri Unumb obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Political Science from the University of South Carolina in 1990. Lorri further pursued higher education at the University of South Carolina Joseph F. Rice School of Law, where they earned a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree between 1990 and 1993. Prior to these academic achievements, they attended Bearden from 1974 to 1978.
