The Upper Room charity

The Upper Room is a charity working with the socially disadvantaged. We work with the homeless, ex-offenders and other socially disadvantaged people to help them improve their lives and conditions and give them the self confidence to become economically independent. The Upper Room has been working to help socially disadvantaged people in London since 1990. We believe in the fundamental proposition that every human being has a hidden potential which, if held captive by any one of the many forms of social exclusion, can still be unlocked by our support and work. We aim to lift our clients personal self-esteem, improve their health and make them more economically independent, which also benefits society by making them less dependent on state funding and less vulnerable to crime. We provide a safe, warm and friendly environment. Our services are personalised to suit the needs of each individual and we pride ourselves on finding innovative solutions to intractable social problems. As an organisation, we do not shy away from tough situations. Instead, we embrace new opportunities to enhance our effectiveness and achieve successful outcomes for our clients.
