Stephen Kappa, MD, MBA has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations. Stephen began their career as a Research Intern at the National Health Service in 2004. Stephen then took on the role of Executive Student Director & Volunteer at Habitat for Humanity of Greater New Haven from 2004 to 2007. During the same period, they also worked as a Tour Guide in the Admission Office at Yale University. In 2012, they joined Vanderbilt University Medical Center as a Resident Physician in Urologic Surgery, and later became the Chief Resident in Urologic Surgery from 2016 to 2017. In 2012, they also served as a Teaching Assistant at Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management. Since 2017, Dr. Kappa has been associated with The Urology Group, initially as an Employed Physician and currently as a Partner Physician and Vice President in charge of Special Projects. Dr. Stephen Kappa has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science and Government from Yale University, which they obtained from 2003 to 2007. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued their medical education at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, where they received their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from 2007 to 2012. Additionally, Dr. Kappa further enhanced their qualifications by earning a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from Vanderbilt University - Owen Graduate School of Management during the academic year 2011-2012.
