Social Media Manager at The Verge

Tristan Cooper is the Social Media Manager at The Verge. Prior to that, they were the Social Content Innovation Lead at CH Media from October 2014 to March 2020, where they coordinated content strategy with social media and marketing teams to promote SVOD platform and convert social followers to subscribers. Tristan also managed a remote Instagram Strategist, assisting the revitalization of that area of CollegeHumor’s social presence.

Before their time at CH Media, Tristan was a Staff Writer for Vanguard newspaper at Portland State University from September 2012 to December 2013, where they wrote about film and comic books for Portland State University’s premiere newspaper, in print and online. Their articles have included reviews, previews of events, interviews and student guidebook entries. Tristan conducted dozens of interviews, whether in-person, over the phone or via email; includes Marvel Comics writers and Eisner winners alike. One of their graphic novel reviews was chosen for Ooligan Press’ Best Writing of Portland State Student Publications compilation, and another article received 2nd Place at the Oregon Newspaper Publishers Associate Awards.

Tristan has also worked as an Account Manager at Can You Pet the Dog? and as a Portland Pulp Editor/Writer at Fisher Interactive Network from July 2012 to May 2013.

Tristan Cooper received a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature/Letters from Portland State University.
