Alex Martin is an experienced journalism professional with a career spanning several decades. Currently serving as the Chief Print Editor and Global Writing Chief at The Wall Street Journal since December 2005, Alex has held various leadership positions, including Deputy Managing Editor roles and Page One responsibilities. Prior to this, Alex was with Newsday Media Group from 1989 to December 2005 in roles such as Assistant Managing Editor for Investigations and Features. Alex began a career in journalism at The Times-Picayune as a Reporter from 1981 to 1989 and briefly served as Editor for the St. Francisville Democrat in 1981. Alex holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Louisiana State University, earned between 1977 and 1981.
