Michelle Higgins

Michelle Higgins is an accomplished journalist and educator with extensive experience in talent management and career development. Currently serving as the Assistant Managing Editor, Talent at The Wall Street Journal since May 2022, Michelle oversees the recruitment process and supports emerging journalists. Previous roles include Director of Career Services at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism, where Michelle developed professional development programs and internship initiatives, and various positions at The New York Times, including Real Estate Reporter and Travel Reporter. With a strong background in teaching as a Lead Instructor at The School of The New York Times, and earlier reporting roles at The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post, Michelle has demonstrated a commitment to advancing journalism while honing the skills of future professionals. Michelle holds a BA in English and Dance from The George Washington University.
