Sumathi Reddy

Sumathi Reddy is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in health and general news reporting. Since 2010, Reddy has served as a reporter and columnist for The Wall Street Journal, focusing on consumer health issues in the "Your Health" column. Prior to this role, Reddy worked at Newsday from 2008 to 2010, covering immigration and demographics, notably reporting on the high-profile Marcelo Lucero hate crime trial. Experience also includes a tenure at the Baltimore Sun from 2004 to 2008, where Reddy reported on a range of topics including crime and local government. Earlier positions were held at Newsday, the Raleigh News & Observer, and the Providence Journal, with responsibilities spanning local politics, education, and community issues.
