Diversity, Equity And Inclusion Specialist at THE WALTER AND ELIZA HALL INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL RESEARCH

Barb West currently serves as the Equity and Inclusion Lead at the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine, a position held since July 2024. Previously, Barb held the role of Equity & Inclusion Coordinator at The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital from March 2022 to April 2024. Experience also includes freelance editing for the Corruption Research Center Budapest and teaching English as Another Language and American studies at the University of Szeged. Barb's extensive background in intercultural communication includes serving as Director of Training at Culture Works and previously as Director of The 100% Project, specializing in gender theory. Academic positions include Associate Professor at the University of the Pacific. Barb holds a PhD and MA in Anthropology from the University of Rochester and a BA in Anthropology and English from Colgate University, along with a Certificate IV in Small Business Management from RMIT University.
