The Walters Art Museum
Annette S. Ortiz Miranda, Ph.D, is a seasoned conservation scientist with extensive experience in art and cultural heritage restoration. Currently serving at The Walters Art Museum since March 2023, Annette previously contributed as a researcher and conservation scientist at SMK – Statens Museum for Kunst from December 2020 to February 2023. Additional experience includes a postdoctoral fellowship at Northwestern University from April 2018 to November 2020 and freelance restoration projects, encompassing the conservation of canvas paintings and wall art at the Bolaños de Calatrava Church in Spain. Annette holds a Ph.D. in Science and Restoration of Historic and Artistic Heritage from Universitat Politècnica de València, complemented by an MA in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage and a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez.
