Earl Martin

Deborah and Philip English Curator of Decorative Arts, Design, and Material Culture at The Walters Art Museum

Earl Martin has a diverse work experience in the field of curating and museum management. Earl currently works at The Walters Art Museum as the Deborah and Philip English Curator of Decorative Arts, Design, and Material Culture, starting in September 2022. Prior to this position, they worked at Bard College where they held various roles including Curator, Associate Curator, Assistant Curator, and Curatorial Assistant. Earl started at Bard College in 2007 and their most recent role there ended in September 2022. Earl also gained experience as a Curatorial Intern at the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum from 2003 to 2006.

Earl Martin obtained a Bachelor's degree in Human Service Studies from Cornell University, where they studied from 1993 to 1997. Following this, they pursued further education and completed a Masters degree in the History of Decorative Arts & Design from Parsons School of Design - The New School, attending the institution from 2003 to 2007.
