Head Of Design at The Walters Art Museum

Tony Venne has a diverse work experience in design and education. Tony started their career as a Graphic Designer at Tiger Oak Publications in 2002, where they designed collateral for publications and assisted with advertisement design. Tony then worked as an Art Director (Contract) at Target Corporation from 2004 to 2007, collaborating on concept and design for in-store displays. In 2008, they joined The Walters Art Museum as a Graphic Designer, responsible for designing various print materials for the museum. In 2018, they were promoted to Head of Design, where they implemented the museum's brand across the institution and managed design projects. Alongside their professional roles, they have also taught graphic design courses at the Maryland Institute College of Art since 2009.

Tony Venne obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, where they studied from 1996 to 2001. In 1999, they also pursued a short-term course in Painting at Northbrook College Sussex, earning a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Fine Art. Later, from 2007 to 2009, they attended the Maryland Institute College of Art, completing a Master of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design.
