Jillian Jarrett

Director, Newsroom Operations at The Washington Post

Born in Westmoreland, Jamaica and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Jillian graduated from Howard University in 2002 with a B.A. in Journalism. She’s been at The Post since 2003 (and counting) and has held a variety of positions within the newsroom.

During her time at the Post, she has held a multitude of positions including night news aide, editorial aide on the DC desk, manager of the Prince George’s Bureau, administrative services manager, and currently Director of Newsroom Operations. She has worked quite a few election nights, helped carry out the expansion of our newsroom onto the 6th floor, and was recognized as part of a Pulitzer Prize-winning team for her contribution to our coverage of the Virginia Tech massacre. Jillian is a resident of Hyattsville, Md where she lives with her two children, Marley and Amari.
