Monica Norton is an experienced journalism professional with a career spanning several decades. Currently serving as the Deputy Managing Editor at The Washington Post since February 2005, Monica has held various positions including Deputy Local Editor, Planning and Enterprise; Local News Day Editor; Technology Editor; and Assistant Maryland Editor. Prior to this role, Monica worked at Newsday as an Assignment Editor from March 1998 to December 2004, and held the same title at Gannett Suburban Newspapers from August 1993 to March 1998. Monica began a career in journalism as a Reporter at the Baltimore Sun from July 1987 to August 1993. Monica earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from the University of Maryland, where studies were completed from 1983 to 1987.
