Breia Smith

Breia Smith is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in grants and contracts management, currently serving as a Grants and Contracts Specialist at The Water Institute of the Gulf since April 2022. Prior roles include Grants Officer and Contracts Coordinator at LSU Health Sciences Center, where responsibilities encompassed reviewing and submitting scientific grants, managing grant budgets, and drafting research agreements. Additionally, Breia held the position of Compliance Specialist, implementing compliance training and managing audits. Earlier experience includes work as a Respiratory Therapist at Willis-Knighton Health System and as a Pharmacy Technician at Sam's Club. Breia holds a Master of Science in Health/Health Care Administration from the University of New Orleans, an Associate's degree in Respiratory Care Therapy from Our Lady of the Lake College, and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of New Orleans.
