Michael Chesterfield has a diverse work experience in the meteorology and weather presentation field. Michael started their career at CBS Television in 1997 as a Weather Producer and Meteorologist, where they managed the weather department and provided accurate forecasts to multiple show producers and other media outlets. In 2002, they worked as a Professor at Columbia College. Michael then moved on to Fox Broadcasting Company in 2008, where they served as a Weather Producer and Meteorologist, taking on additional responsibilities such as developing and managing internet content and enhancing on-air presentations. From 2009 to 2012, they worked at The Weather Channel as a National Weather Producer and Lead Meteorologist, before being promoted to various roles including Senior Manager of Meteorological Content and Weather Presentation, Co-Creator/Executive Producer of Weather Geeks, Director of Weather Presentation, and finally as VP of Weather Presentation and Data Visualization. Overall, Michael Chesterfield has demonstrated expertise in weather forecasting, presentation, and content development throughout their career.

Michael Chesterfield obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology from Northern Illinois University, where they studied from 1991 to 1996. In October 2020, they also obtained two certifications from LinkedIn: "Humble Leadership: The Power of Relationships, Openness, and Trust (getAbstract Summary)" and "Mastering Organizational Chaos."
