Sussy Ruiz has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and companies. Starting in 2001, they worked as a Digital News Intern at NBC News and later joined WFAA Media as a TV News-Magazine Intern. In 2002, they joined Univision Communications Inc. and held various positions, including Assignment Desk Supervisor, Special Projects Producer, Executive Producer, and Manager of Regional Broadcast & Digital News. During their time at Univision, Sussy implemented successful strategies, standardized editorial skills, and optimized resources for 16 O&O stations. Sussy also coordinated coverage for major sports events and received a Lone Star Emmy for a content segment. In 2016, Sussy worked as an Assistant News Director at Telemundo Houston | KTMD, where they achieved increased ratings for late news lead-in and early news. Sussy later joined Univision Communications Inc. again in 2020 as a Journalist. In 2018, Sussy became a Media Arts Adjunct Professor at the University of North Texas, and in 2019, they started their own consulting agency, Saint Solutions LLC, where they advise individuals and companies on media strategy, content, and self-development goals. Sussy's most recent role is as the VP/Editor in Chief at The Weather Channel En Español, which they began in 2021.
Sussy Ruiz has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Nova Southeastern University, which they obtained from 2016 to 2019. Sussy pursued a field of study in Business Administration, Management and Operations during their time at Nova Southeastern University.
