Erica I. Nuckles

Erica I. Nuckles, Ph.D., currently serves as the Director of Learning, Engagement and Partnerships at The Westmoreland Museum of American Art since April 2021, where responsibilities include leading the LEAP Team and developing interpretative methodologies for exhibitions. Concurrently, Nuckles holds adjunct professor positions at Westmoreland County Community College and Seton Hill University, teaching museum careers and American history, respectively. Previously, Nuckles directed history and collections at Fort Ligonier and Braddock's Battlefield History Center, where noteworthy achievements included creating permanent exhibits recognized with the 2019 PA Museums Institutional Achievement Award and overseeing extensive collections management. Nuckles has an extensive background in museum interpretation, programming, and education, with earlier roles including museum supervisor, collections housekeeper, and various internships, complemented by advanced degrees in History and Museum Studies Administration from reputable institutions.
