Silvia Filippini Fantoni currently serves as the Richard M. Scaife Director/CEO of The Westmoreland Museum of American Art, a position held since July 2023. Prior to this, Silvia was the Deputy Director of Learning and Engagement at The Newark Museum of Art from October 2019 to June 2023, where oversight included managing teams focused on education, public programs, and community engagement with a budget of $2 million. Notably, during the pandemic, Silvia led initiatives transitioning to virtual experiences, reaching over 25,000 visitors on Zoom and over 115,000 on social media. Silvia's extensive experience also includes leadership roles at the North Carolina Museum of Art, the Indianapolis Museum of Art, and project management positions at various organizations, including the British Museum and Cogapp, among others. Silvia holds a Doctorate and a Master's degree in Museology/Museum Studies from the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne, as well as a Master's degree in History from Università degli Studi di Milano.
