Melanie Kelly

Melanie Kelly is currently the Manager of Reference at The Westport Library. Prior to that, they were a professional math and English tutor at Tunxis Community College from September 2006 to April 2011. In their role as a tutor, they guided students through online databases to find and evaluate sources for research papers, worked with students individually to improve their algebra and writing skills, and trained and mentored a staff of peer tutors. Melanie also designed materials and resources to assist students and tutors, created and marketed reading and writing learning strategies workshops, created and edited the Academic Support Center Newsletter and Blog, and marketed, created, and taught Head Start for Intermediate and Elementary Algebra workshops. In addition, they served on several college-wide committees. Melanie then became a Reference Librarian at the New Canaan Library from April 2011 to July 2014. Finally, they were an intern at the Milford Public Library from June 2010 to August 2010.

Melanie Kelly has a Master of Library & Information Science (MLIS) from Southern Connecticut State University and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English Language and Literature, General from the University of Connecticut.

Melanie Kelly reports to William H. Harmer, Executive Director. Melanie Kelly works with Brendan Toller - Marketing Manager, Verso Studios, Heli Stagg - Manger, Retail & Café, and Mary Parmelee - Director, Youth Services.
