Melissa Pewett is an experienced professional in council relations and event management, currently serving as the Director of Council Relations at The Wilderness Society since February 2016. In this role, Melissa oversees engagement with Governing Council members, manages board governance processes, and supervises the Executive Assistant to the President. Prior to this position, Melissa worked as the Meetings and Member Services Manager at the Responsible Business Alliance, where responsibilities included coordinating international meeting logistics and managing membership outreach. Additional experience includes roles at the Society for Science, the American Political Science Association, and the Biophysical Society, where Melissa specialized in sponsorship, exhibit management, and event logistics. Melissa holds a Bachelor's degree in English from the University of Lynchburg.
