April McIntosh, SHRM-SCP has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. April currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer for The Women's Home, where they focus on building communities and empowering women and families through their unique model of care. Prior to this role, April was the Finance and Administration Director at Camp For All, where they provided leadership and support in financial planning, operational effectiveness, and organizational development. April also served as the Chief Financial Officer at the Center for Reform of School Systems, overseeing financial planning, HR administration, and grant budget reporting. Earlier in their career, April held various positions at H.L. Flake Security Hardware and South Shore Distributing, gaining a comprehensive understanding of business management and contributing to strategic goals. Additionally, they have experience as an Event Coordinator and Treasurer for the Annual Johnny Romano Skate Jam, showcasing their event coordination and organizational skills.
April McIntosh, SHRM-SCP, has a diverse education history. April obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree with a field of study in Business Management and a minor in Human Resource Management from the University of Houston-Downtown, where they attended from 2013 to 2016. Additionally, April earned a Certificate of Entrepreneurship in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies from the University of Houston-Downtown in 2016.
Prior to their time at the University of Houston-Downtown, April obtained an Associates Degree in Business Administration from San Jacinto College, where they studied from 2008 to 2011.
April has also achieved several additional certifications. In 2018, they obtained the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification from SHRM. In 2020, April received a certification in Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging from LinkedIn. Most recently, in 2022, they completed a certification in Leading Change in Nonprofits offered by Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.

The Women’s Home builds communities that strengthen women and support families as they reclaim their stability. Since our creation in 1957, we have fulfilled this mi3ssion by providing housing and supportive services to vulnerable women and families in the Houston area. Our programs serve women and families who are homeless or vulnerable to homelessness - many have histories of addiction, mental illness, and trauma. Through our long-term residential treatment program in Montrose and our affordable housing programs and our Mabee WholeLife® Service Center in Spring Branch, our clients cultivate the skills and self-esteem they need to overcome crisis, and live a healthy, resilient life.
