Phoebe Bovy

Phoebe Bovy is an experienced journalist and editor currently serving as the Opinion Editor for the Canadian Jewish News (The CJN) since September 2022. Bovy has worked as a freelance writer since 2006, contributing to esteemed publications such as The New Republic, Partisan, The Atlantic, The New Inquiry, and The Jewish Daily Forward. Bovy previously held the role of Lecturer and Course Coordinator in the French Department at the University of Toronto from July 2015 to June 2019 and served as Sisterhood Editor for The Forward from October 2016 to June 2017. Bovy also gained experience as an intern at The Dish in 2014. Bovy completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in French and French Studies at New York University from 2006 to 2013, after earning a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in French from the University of Chicago from 2001 to 2005.
