Carlia's extensive prior experience in the hospitality industry at Harrah's Resort and Casino involved managerial roles in teleservices and player lounges, emphasizing exceptional customer service and operational oversight. Academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Human Services from the University of Phoenix and coursework in Social Work from Universidad de Puerto Rico.

The Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) is a national leader in youth entrepreneurship education, operating in communities nationwide. YEA! teaches middle and high school students how to start and run their own real businesses, transforming them into confident entrepreneurs through the process. YEA! students generate business ideas, conduct market research, write business plans, pitch to a panel of investors, and launch their very own companies through an innovative curriculum with the help of local business professionals and community leaders.
