Willis R. has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Willis started their career in 2009 with the United States Air Force, where they served as a Knowledge Operations Manager. After leaving the Air Force in 2014, they joined Kaiser Permanente as a Desktop Support Technician. In 2015, they worked for both Intergraph Government Solutions as a Help Desk Specialist and the Air National Guard as a Knowledge Manager. Willis then joined SPX Corporation as a Technical Support Specialist and Duke Energy Corporation as a Cybersecurity Operations Center Analyst in 2016. From 2018 to 2019, they worked as a Cybersecurity Analyst at Mission Health. Willis then moved on to Nisos Inc. as the Director of Cyber Operations in 2019. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Analysis at Alethea Group, which they started in 2020.

Willis R. completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance from Capella University, from 2013 to 2017. In addition, they obtained a Level III Technician certification in Information Technology from Applied Computer Training Technology (ACTT) from 2015 to 2016.

Willis has also earned several additional certifications. In July 2018, they obtained the ITIL Foundations certification from AXELOS Global Best Practice, as well as the Splunk Certified Power User and Splunk Certified User certifications from Splunk. Furthermore, they obtained the Unix Badge certification from PentesterLab in July 2018. In June 2018, they achieved the Nessus Certificate of Proficiency certification from Tenable, and in March 2017, they obtained the Nessus Fundamentals certification from Cybrary. Willis has also earned the Security Operations certification from Cybrary in December 2016.

Among their other certifications, Willis R. has obtained the CompTIA Project+ certification from CompTIA in October 2016, the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH v9) certification from EC-Council in March 2017, the CompTIA A+ ce certification from CompTIA in June 2015, the CompTIA CSA+ ce certification from CompTIA in August 2016, the CompTIA Security+ ce certification from CompTIA in November 2015, and the Security Analytics Professional certification from CompTIA in August 2016. Additionally, they achieved the CyberSec First Responder: Threat Detection and Response (CFR) certification from Logical Operations in February 2016.
