Kelly Colburn is an experienced artistic professional specializing in projections and multimedia design within the theater industry. Currently serving as the Artistic Lead at Flying V Theatre and a Digital Producer for Theater Alliance, Kelly has also established a successful freelance career as a Professional Projections and Multimedia Designer since 2015. As the founder of Grandma's Hip, a greeting card business, Kelly combines creativity with entrepreneurship. Previous roles include Creative Coordinator and Graduate Assistant at The Clarice, as well as a video operator with Blue Man Group. With a Master’s Degree in Projections and Multimedia Design from the University of Maryland and a BFA in Theatre from New York University, Kelly is committed to integrating multimedia into American theater, enriching the art form through innovative concepts and designs.

Theater Alliance

Theater Alliance develops, produces, and presents socially conscious, thought-provoking work that fully engages our community in active dialogue. Theater Alliance was founded with the distinct goal of producing work that would illuminate the experiences, philosophies and interests of DC’s diverse populations. Each season, we produce three to four plays including world, American and Washington DC premieres. Our productions highlight the eclectic work of renowned playwrights such as Salmon Rushdie, Daniel MacIvor, Toni Morrison, Rebecca Gilman, Adam Bock, Victor Lodato and Seamus Heaney, among others. Theater Alliance has been recognized for its artistry with 23 Helen Hayes nominations. Theater Alliance is a member of the League of Washington Theaters, The Cultural Alliance of Greater Washington, CHAMPS (Capitol Hill Chamber of Commerce), Cultural Tourism DC, and is an Associate Member of The National New Play Network.
