Michelle Tanem is an experienced communications leader with a strong background in strategic communications and public affairs. Currently serving as the Director of Strategic Communications at ThedaCare since 2017, Michelle provides operational leadership and develops strategies to enhance the organization's brand and mission. Previous roles include Director of Global Public Affairs at SC Johnson, where strategic oversight of global external communications was provided for a $10 billion business, and over two decades at Johnson Controls, Inc., culminating in the role of Director of Communications for North America. Michelle has a proven track record in enhancing corporate reputation, managing communications teams, and implementing successful marketing strategies, supported by a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and a Minor in French from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

The organization serves over 235,000 patients annually and employs more than 7,000 healthcare professionals throughout the region.
