Ian Skinner has extensive experience in football coaching and player development, currently serving as the 1st Team Coach and Lead Player Development at Gateshead Football Club since November 2024. Skinner is also the owner of X & O Coaching Ltd since August 2020. Previous roles include Coach Developer for UEFA C & B at The Football Association since January 2007, and Player Development Coach (Lead U14) at Newcastle United Football Club from May 2024 to November 2024. Skinner held the position of Head of Elite and Performance Football at Gateshead College & Gateshead FC from September 2022 to May 2024, and previously led women's football development and managed the u19’s scholarship programme. Other positions include Academy Director/Lead Coach at Monkseaton High School, Head of Participation at Northumberland Football Association, and Health & Wellbeing Manager at Newcastle United Foundation. Additionally, Skinner has a solid foundation in grassroots development from early roles in the football sector.
