Maiysha Kai is an accomplished Lifestyle Editor, Columnist, and On-Air Host at theGrio, providing leadership in content creation focused on various lifestyle topics relevant to the Black community. Serving as the creator and host of the "Writing Black" podcast and the on-air host of theGrio's "Masters of the Game," Maiysha interviews prominent Black leaders and authors. Previously, Maiysha co-created and hosted "It's Lit!" podcast at The Root, co-founded The Glow Up magazine, and held multiple roles in modeling and content creation, including work as a voiceover artist and actress with Innovative Artists. With a Bachelor's degree from Sarah Lawrence College and experience as a copywriter and creative consultant, Maiysha has demonstrated versatility across media and entertainment sectors, significantly contributing to campaigns generating substantial revenue.

TheGrio.com, owned by Entertainment Studios LLC, is the first video-centric news community site devoted to providing African-Americans with stories and perspectives that appeal to them but are underrepresented in existing national news outlets. TheGrio features aggregated and original video packages, news articles, and blogs on topics from breaking news, politics, health, business, and entertainment, which concern its niche audience. The goal of TheGrio is to be the news portal that satisfies the desire of African-Americans to stay informed and connected with their community. TheGrio’s editorial mandate is to focus on news and events that have a unique interest and/or pronounced impact within the national African Americans audience.
