Schalk van der Merwe

Schalk van der Merwe has a diverse work experience in the field of visual effects and editing. Schalk is currently working as the Head of 2D at The Mill since July 2022. Before that, they were the Head of Flame at MPC from November 2019 to July 2022. Prior to that, they owned their own company, Visual Frequency, from January 2016 to July 2022. Schalk has also served as the COO at Splashfx from January 2011 to December 2015. Schalk started their career as an Offline Editor at Deepend Post from January 2007 to December 2010, and earlier, they worked as a Freelance Editor at Kaelo World Wide Media from January 2003 to December 2006.

Schalk van der Merwe attended Leeuenhof Academie from 1998 to 2002. There is no information regarding the degree or field of study during this period. Later, from 2004 to 2006, they enrolled at Open Window, where they pursued a degree in Visual Communication with a focus on Film/Cinema/Video Studies.
