Nadia O'Shaughnessy

Head Of Research at Themis

Nadia O'Shaughnessy has accumulated a diverse range of work experience throughout their career. Nadia currently serves as the Head of Research at Themis since January 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Director, Think Tank at Themis from October 2020 to January 2022. Before joining Themis, they worked as a Consultant from April 2020 to September 2020.

In addition to their experience at Themis, Nadia also worked as a Blue Book Trainee at the European Commission's Directorate-General for International Cooperation and Development (DG DEVCO) from October 2019 to February 2020. During this time, they were responsible for writing briefs, liaising with EU delegations, and analyzing data about EU development programs in Eastern Africa. Nadia also coordinated work related to digitalization for development within the unit.

Nadia gained valuable experience as a Global Risk & Investigations Practice Intern at FTI Consulting in July 2019 and August 2019. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Assistant at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly from January 2019 to June 2019.

Before their role at NATO, Nadia served as an Economic Affairs Intern at the United Nations from October 2018 to December 2018. Nadia also gained exposure to parliamentary affairs as a Transatlantic Future Leaders Forum Intern at the House of Commons in August 2017 and September 2017. During their internship, they undertook casework, prepared materials for articles on British-Polish affairs, and managed social media for the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Poland.

Nadia's work experience began with an internship at UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) as a British Embassy Intern from June 2016 to July 2016.

Nadia O'Shaughnessy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human, Social and Political Sciences from the University of Cambridge. Nadia also has a Master's degree in International Political Economy from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a Master's degree in International Public Management from Sciences Po. Additionally, they obtained an International Baccalaureate from The British School, Warsaw.
