Omar Faruq

Omar Faruq is an experienced database operations leader with a career spanning over two decades, currently serving as the Head of Database Operations at Therap Services, LLC since August 2004. Over this period, Omar has overseen various critical projects such as migrating single instance Oracle databases to RAC for enhanced scalability and high availability, optimizing database performance, and implementing high availability database architectures. Previous roles include Director of Database Engineering and Senior Oracle Database Administrator, where responsibilities involved collaborating with development teams on database design, troubleshooting performance issues, and implementing backup and recovery solutions. Omar's earlier experience as a software engineer included developing banking applications and managing a team of developers. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science & Engineering from Islamic University of Technology and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.
