Yaroslav Nikulin has had a diverse work experience. In 2009, they were a Physics Teacher at the Preparatory School under MIPT. In 2011, they were a Software Engineering Intern at Parallels. In 2014, they were a Research Intern at Dassault Systèmes, where they suggested and implemented a descriptor to refine the results of the first round retrieval. In 2015, they were a Research Intern at Siemens Corporate Research, where they suggested and implemented a new approach based on the backpropagation of errors method usually used for neural networks training. In 2016, they were a Research Scientist at Therapixel, where they wrote the 1st place entry on the Digital Mammography DREAM Challenge and was invited to the private Collaborative Phase. Yaroslav was then promoted to Senior Research Scientist, where they focused on their AI-based project for breast cancer screening. Finally, they were promoted to Head of Artificial Intelligence, where they led development of new ML models or features for existing models following recent advances in ML/AI field and managed a team of Research Scientists and Engineers.
Yaroslav Nikulin completed a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (State University) (MIPT) from 2008 to 2012. Yaroslav then completed a Master of Science in Computer Vision, Image Treatment, and Machine Learning from École Polytechnique from 2012 to 2016. Yaroslav also obtained a Master's Degree in Applied Mathematics from E.N.S. Cachan from 2015 to 2016.
