Vice President Of Research, Development And Engineering at Thermacell Repellents

Fernando Castro has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Fernando most recently served as the Vice President of Engineering at Thermacell Repellents, Inc. since November 2020. Prior to that, they worked at Symmons Industries from 2018 to 2020, where they held the positions of Director of Engineering and Engineering Manager.

Before joining Symmons Industries, Fernando had a long tenure at Instron, starting in 2006. Fernando held various roles during their time there, including Architectural Lead & Principal Mechanical Engineer, Manager of Sustaining and Manufacturing Engineering, Principal Mechanical Engineer, and Senior Mechanical Engineer. In these roles, they demonstrated their expertise in managing multi-disciplinary teams, leading R&D activities, and developing innovative solutions.

Fernando also has experience at Dell EMC, where they worked from 2000 to 2006. Fernando started as a Mechanical Engineering Co-op and later became a Mechanical Engineer and Senior Mechanical Engineer. During their time at Dell EMC, they were involved in the design and development of high-end data storage systems and managed team projects.

Additionally, Fernando gained early experience as a Summer Intern at Carlisle & Company in 1999.

Fernando Castro obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute between 1997 and 2001. Fernando continued their education at the same institute and completed a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering between 2010 and 2015.
