Rik Brouwer is an experienced designer of composite structures currently working at the ThermoPlastic Composites Application Center (TPAC) since 2019, focusing on the applied research and development of thermoplastic composites for SMEs. Previously, Rik held a position at Green PAC from March 2017 to April 2023, contributing to the innovation of biobased polymers and composites. At Lightweight Structures B.V. from August 1996 to February 2019, project management duties involved overseeing R&D projects in lightweight engineering and advising on composite material design. Early career experience includes research and development at TU Delft between 1988 and 1996, where Rik engaged in the design and development of composite products and processing technologies. Rik earned a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering from Delft University of Technology.

The ThermoPlastic composites Application Center in the Netherlands, is an independent innovation, research and development center that aims at the understanding of thermoplastic composites and their manufacturing processes on an applied research level. The TPAC is focused on the application of ThermoPlastic composites and related technology by developing proofs of concept for SMEs. The TPAC provides a breeding ground for regional and national companies who want to innovate with TP composites by offering access to expertise and manufacturing facilities.
