Jon Chang has a diverse range of work experience, starting with their role as a Senior Social Media Manager at MakerBot in 2014. Jon then went on to work at Kickstarter as a Digital Marketing Director, where they led the digital marketing team and oversaw user acquisition, retention, engagement, and audience development.

After their time at Kickstarter, Jon founded their own consulting company, Jon Chang Consulting, in 2014. Jon provided consulting services until 2023.

In 2017, Jon joined General Assembly as an instructor, teaching various marketing, product, UX, and data courses. During their time there, they taught over 100 classes and 2,000 students.

Jon also had significant roles at IBM, where they worked as a Product Marketer, and at Klarna, where they held several positions including Head of Growth Marketing for the US Shopping Mobile App. Jon'sresponsibilities at Klarna included ideating and implementing growth marketing strategies to increase market share and user engagement.

In 2019, Jon started working at New York University as an Adjunct Professor, teaching courses on digital marketing, social media marketing and analytics, and web analytics. Jon continued teaching until 2023.

In 2022, Jon joined ShopShops as the Vice President of Growth Marketing for a brief period before joining theSkimm in 2023 as the VP of Growth Marketing. At theSkimm, Jon is responsible for providing women with the information they need to make confident decisions and managing the growth marketing strategy.

Additionally, Jon served as a member of the Board of Trustees at EXPLO from 2019 and as Lead Teacher with a focus on marketing at the same organization from 2011 to 2019, providing valuable insights and guidance in the field.

Jon Chang attended St. Olaf College, where they studied Philosophy. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at Barrington High School, focusing on a field of study related to being a "King of nerds and geeks." Later, they pursued studies in Development Economics and International Development at the University of Dhaka and Chinese Language and Literature at Ming Chuan University. In addition to their education, Jon obtained certifications in various fields, including Inbound from HubSpot, Licensed Private Career School Teacher from the New York State Education Department, Google Analytics, Bing Ads Accredited Professional from Microsoft, and Google AdWords.
