John Silva

Community Outreach Prevention Educator Advocate at The Women's Center

John Silva is an experienced professional with a diverse background in community outreach, program management, and customer service. Currently serving as Program Director for the New Bedford Community Connections Coalition at the United Way of Greater New Bedford since April 2024, John previously worked as a Community Outreach Prevention Educator Advocate at the New Bedford Women's Center, focusing on domestic violence and sexual assault counseling from October 2016 to May 2024. Prior roles include Bereavement Coordinator at Steward Home Care and Hospice, where John developed bereavement services and support programs, as well as various positions at MetLife, including Sales Development Consultant and Sales & Service Call Center Supervisor, where John facilitated team success and enhanced customer satisfaction. Additionally, experience at Sovereign Bank involved managing credit underwriting and customer support teams. John is currently pursuing an Associate's Degree at Bristol Community College, building on a foundational education with a high school diploma in Business from BMC Durfee High School.
