Joel Cilli

Joel Cilli has worked in the STEM field for over 10 years. In 2020, they began their current role as Head of Product and Innovation at Thimble.io, where they develop online content resources and designs new products. Prior to this, they were the STEM Curriculum Coordinator at The Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School from 2010 to 2017. During this time, they developed STEM outreach and coursework with an emphasis on Computer Science and the Maker Movement. In 2017, they also began working at PiMios as a Prototype Engineer, specializing in hardware prototyping, coding firmware, 3D modeling, and product assembly. Additionally, they created educational content for PiMios Learn, an ad-free youtube channel, focused on resources for learning about the tools and techniques used at PiMios to develop prototypes.

Joel Cilli holds a Master of Science in Education from Franciscan University of Steubenville, obtained in 2013, in the field of Online Education. Joel also holds a Bachelor of Arts - BA from Waynesburg University, obtained in 2009, in the field of English/Language Arts Teacher Education. In addition, they have obtained six certifications from LinkedIn, including Advanced Python, Design Thinking: Implementing the Process, Design Thinking: Understanding the Process, Applied Machine Learning: Algorithms, Applied Machine Learning: Foundations, and Electronics Foundations: Fundamentals, obtained between the months of May and August in 2019.
