Director Of Special Education at Third Way Center

Amy Thomas has a diverse work experience in the education and mental health field. Amy started their career in 2006 as a Special Education Teacher and Lead Teacher at Jefferson Hills. From 2010 to 2015, they worked at Third Way Center as a Mental Health Counselor and later as an Assistant Educational Coordinator and Special Education Teacher. In 2016, they joined Denver Public Schools as a School Counselor. Currently, they are working at Third Way Center again, this time as the Director of Special Education since August 2022.

Amy Thomas has a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Metropolitan State University of Denver, which they obtained from 1996 to 2004. Amy also completed some coursework in Psychology at the University of Northern Colorado in the year 1995 to 1996. Amy went on to pursue a Master's degree in Counselor Education/School Counseling and Guidance Services at the University of Northern Colorado from 2013 to 2016. Recently, in 2022, Amy enrolled at the University of Northern Colorado to pursue a Special Education Director Licensure in the field of study.
