Chief People Officer at Thomas

Gillian Ward's work experience includes serving as the Chief People Officer at Thomas International since June 2022. Prior to this role, they were the Head of People at Thomas International from May 2020 to June 2022.

Before joining Thomas International, Gillian worked at RPM Ltd as the Board and HR Director from March 2016 to May 2020. During their time at RPM Ltd, they focused on transforming HR into a proactive and employee-focused function, aligning people strategy with company goals, and implementing new systems and processes to streamline HR processes.

From September 2008 to September 2015, Gillian worked at Wokingham Borough Council as an HR Business Partner and Learning and Development Manager. In this role, they led the design and delivery of a people performance improvement framework and implemented a new learning management system to enhance training delivery and engagement.

Gillian also has experience as a lecturer in Human Resources at Farnborough College of Technology from January 2014 to April 2014.

Prior to these roles, Gillian worked as a self-employed HR Training Consultant, providing consultancy on HR strategy, training, and operations issues for various clients across multiple industry sectors. Gillian has also worked with HR consultancies such as People Vision Ltd and Focus Management Consultancy.

Gillian began their career at Accenture in September 1988, where they served in various HR Manager and Compliance roles until September 2001.

Gillian Ward achieved a Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management from the University of Westminster in 1992-1993. Prior to that, they pursued Business and Finance studies at Kingston University from 1987-1989. In 2018, they obtained additional certifications including being a Certified Practitioner of Thomas International's Personal Profile Analysis (PPA) and Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire (TEIQue). Gillian also holds a Primary Certificate in Performance Coaching from the Centre of Coaching, UK.
