Talonda Johnson

Talonda Johnson has over a decade of experience in social services and education. Currently serving as a Residential Care Specialist at THOMPSON Child & Family Focus since July 2018, Talonda also holds the position of Community Social Services Assistant at the Union County Department of Social Services since May 2014 and has worked as an Assistant Teacher at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools since August 2012. Prior experience includes a role as Juvenile Detention Center Supervisor from June 2011 to October 2023, where responsibilities included supervising staff and ensuring compliance with safety protocols for juveniles. Talonda began a career in juvenile justice as a Juvenile Justice Officer for Durham County Government and managed the Durham County Youth Home concurrently while serving as Assistant Manager at Durham Public Schools. Talonda earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from North Carolina Central University between 2000 and 2003.
