Aaron Drew Lacey

Aaron Drew Lacey is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in higher education law and regulatory compliance. Currently, Aaron serves as a Partner and Chair of the Higher Education Practice at Thompson Coburn LLP, a position held since February 2014, where expert advice is provided to institutions on various legal matters. Previously, Aaron acted as the Primary Negotiator for the U.S. Department of Education during the "Borrower Defense" rulemaking process in late 2017. Prior roles include serving as the Senior Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Strategic Development at Vatterott College and as an Attorney in the Higher Education Practice at Dow Lohnes LLP (now Cooley LLP). Educational qualifications include a Juris Doctor and a Certificate from Vanderbilt University Law School and a Bachelor of Arts from Duke University.
