Wendy Sexton has a diverse work history in the healthcare field. Wendy began their career as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist at Highland Hospital of Rochester NY in 1989. Wendy later transitioned to become a Scientist at Ortho Clinical Diagnostics in 1993. Wendy then moved on to work as a Registered Respiratory Therapist at various hospitals, including Highland Hospital of Rochester NY, Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital, Inc., and UR Thompson Health. Wendy held roles such as Lead Respiratory Therapist and Registered Respiratory Therapist during their time at these facilities.

Wendy Sexton obtained an Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) degree in Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology/Technologist from Alfred State College - SUNY College of Technology in 1988. Wendy later pursued another AAS degree in Respiratory Care Therapy/Therapist from Genesee Community College, which they completed in 2013. Wendy also holds certifications as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from both the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and Genesee Community College.
