Rolando Villena

Rolando Villena is an accomplished structural engineer with extensive experience in project engineering and design. Currently serving as a Project Engineer at Thornton Tomasetti since March 2017, Rolando is also a co-founder of AIOS Civ, a research team dedicated to advancing structural design through Artificial Intelligence and optimization algorithms. Previous roles include Structural Design Team Member at Consultores Asociados Multidiciplinarios CONAM, where responsibilities involved structural design verification and BIM management for a major government project in Bolivia, and Structural Supervisor ensuring compliance with structural plans for the UNASUR Headquarters construction. Rolando's educational background includes a Master's Degree in Structural Engineering from Escuela Militar de Ingeniería and a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from Universidad Mayor de San Simón.
