Matthew Hurley Eit

Matthew Hurley, EIT, is a Geotechnical Staff Engineer at Thoroughbred since August 2021, where responsibilities include conducting geotechnical evaluations through drilling, surveying, laboratory testing, and report writing. Prior experience includes two internships at Arch Resources, Inc., where in May to August 2019, Matthew assisted engineers with mine forecasting and permitting, and in June to August 2018, supported surveyors with surface mine surveys using Trimble GPS. Matthew holds a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Kentucky College of Engineering, earned in August 2021, and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the same institution, completed in May 2019. Additionally, Matthew obtained an Associate of Arts and Sciences in Engineering from Southwest Virginia Community College in May 2016.
