Barry Jones

Barry Jones has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Barry started their career as an intern at Databuilt in 2000 and then moved on to work as a Web Architect/Developer at NuVox Communications from 2004 to 2007. Following that, they worked as an Alpha Geek and Senior Web Developer at FUEL Digital Marketing and Branding from 2007 to 2008. Barry then joined Brightball, Inc as a Fractional CTO in 2008, where they became a certified Scaled Agile Framework Practice Consultant (SPC) and Release Train Engineer (RTE) and helped companies with technical problem-solving, application performance optimization, and organizational management.

Barry later joined AUDIOGON, INC. in 2012 as the Director of Application Development. There, they successfully led a team of developers to resolve a chaotic situation by increasing revenues, improving page load time, eliminating crashes, mitigating phishing, and implementing various other improvements. Barry worked at ACS Technologies as a Senior Systems Engineer from 2013 to 2018 before joining dmarcian as the Director of Software, where they carried out significant projects such as the global Python/Django development and operations teams' improvement, Python 2 to Python 3 upgrade, and the rollout of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

In recent years, Barry has held roles such as Consultant at Simply Binary in 2021, Technical Instructor at Seek Quality, LLC in 2022, and Acting VP of Development at ThoroughCare in 2022. Throughout their career, Barry Jones has demonstrated strong technical skills, leadership, and the ability to adapt to various environments and challenges.

Barry Jones obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from Clemson University, where they studied from 1998 to 2002. Barry then pursued a Master of Science degree in eCommerce from the same university, completing their studies in 2004.

In addition to their academic achievements, Barry has obtained several certifications. In October and November 2022, they earned certifications from GitLab, including GitLab Certified DevOps Professional, GitLab Certified Migration Services Specialist, GitLab Certified Services Engineer Professional, GitLab Certified CI/CD Associate, GitLab Certified Git Associate, GitLab Certified Implementation Services Specialist, GitLab Certified Project Management Associate, and GitLab Certified Security Specialist. Furthermore, in September and October 2020, they became certified by Scaled Agile, Inc. as a Certified SAFe® 5 Program Consultant and Certified SAFe® 5 Release Train Engineer respectively. Lastly, in March 2023, they received the certifications of Certified SAFe® 6 Practice Consultant and Certified SAFe® 6 Release Train Engineer from Scaled Agile, Inc.
