Dan Millsaps

Dan Millsaps has extensive experience in the refractory engineering and materials industry, currently serving as Fired Heater SME and BD at Thorpe Specialty Services Corporation since January 2019, focusing on growth in domestic and international fired heater markets. Previously, as Petrochem Business Development Manager at Calderys from 2016 to 2018, Dan managed sales of refractory materials across various industries and actively engaged in technical conferences. From 1997 to 2016, Dan held the role of VP - International & Special Projects at Thorpe, overseeing comprehensive project management for large-scale refractory projects. Dan's career began as Lead Vessel Engineer at MW Kellogg (1991-1997), where design responsibilities spanned FCC converters and ammonia/methanol plants, and included earlier roles at Black & Veatch and CB&I, focusing on civil and structural engineering. Dan holds a Master of Science in Structural Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, both from Texas Tech University.
