Dawn Allen

Dawn Allen has extensive experience in the behavioral health field. Dawn currently holds the role of Certified Community Behavioral Health Project Director at Thrive Behavioral Health since 2019. Before that, Dawn worked at the RI Executive Office of Health and Human Services as a Health Program Administrator from 2016 to 2019. In this role, they collaborated with state agencies to create and operationalize programs for Medicaid recipients, and provided support and advocacy to both recipients and providers.

Prior to their time at the Executive Office, Dawn worked at the Rhode Island Office of the Public Defender as a Social Worker from 2010 to 2016. Dawn served as a Utilization Management Care Coordination Specialist from 2009 to 2010, overseeing quality management and performing audits to ensure compliance. Dawn also served as the Coordinator of Forensic Services & Specialized Mental Health Services from 2008 to 2009, overseeing mental health programs for specialized populations and implementing contractual programs. And as the Program Coordinator of Fellowship Community Reintegration Services from 2004 to 2007, they managed a program in a correctional institution, conducting assessments, creating case plans, and preparing inmates for parole and release.

Dawn's career began at the RI Department of Corrections, where they worked with RI Probation & Parole from 2002 to 2004, assisting Probation Officers during court proceedings and handling case assignments and probation violators.

Dawn Allen completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at the University of Rhode Island from 1997 to 2001.
