Previously, Carmen held the position of SVP, Chief People & Belonging Officer at Novant Health from 2020 to 2023. Carmen's extensive experience in human resources includes serving as Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer at Wake Forest University from 2011 to 2020, Chief Talent Officer/CHRO at Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, LLP from 2006 to 2011, and Vice President, Sr. Human Resources Business Partner at Wells Fargo from 1998 to 2006. Carmen began the career as a Human Resources Manager at Pepsi Bottling Ventures from 1995 to 1998. Education includes a Master of Labor & Industrial Relations in Human Resources from Michigan State University School of Human Resources and Labor Relations and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Spanish from Michigan State University.
